Exit Strategy: Selling Your Plumbing Business

Business contract signing

Are you building a business to sell, or just buying yourself a job? To sell a plumbing business for a high multiple, you need to make yourself redundant.

1. Maintenance Contracts

Buyers love recurring revenue. If you have contracts with real estate agents, schools, or strata management for regular maintenance, these are gold. Ad-hoc emergency work is less valuable.

2. The "Bus Factor"

If you got hit by a bus tomorrow, would the business survive? If the answer is no, your business has low value. You need systems (Standard Operating Procedures) so that any plumber can step in and do the job.

We work with business brokers to prepare "Sale Ready" financials that highlight your profitability and remove personal expenses.
