Integrating Xero with Construction Management Software
Your Project Management software (Procore, Buildxact) needs to talk to your Accounting software (Xero). If they aren't synced, you are doing double data entry.
Mapping Cost Codes
The secret to a good integration is mapping your Cost Codes in Buildxact to your Chart of Accounts in Xero.
Example: "Carpentry Labour" in Buildxact should map to "COGS - Subcontractors" in Xero.
Syncing Contacts
Ensure your supplier list is clean before you integrate. You don't want duplicates (e.g., "Bunnings" vs "Bunnings Warehouse") creating a mess in your accounts payable.
